I swear, I thought I had entered a dream when I arrived at this gorgeous farm. I drove 2 hours to reach my destination and as I drove down the lane toward the house there were 3 dogs that greeted me, just like I was in a movie! We were a little nervous that the rain wasn't going to let up for us but we were patient and that patience definitely paid off. The subjects for this session weren't just a family of four or five but actually 8 grandkids! Although this sounds like an intense session that might be chaotic, it was the furthest from this. The children were so sweet and eager to capture amazing images to cherish forever. The setting on this day was the most serene I have ever seen. There were fields all around me, gorgeous mature trees, horses and even a river. I was definitely in photographer's heaven! The session is a surprise present for the grandparents. I hope they love the photos as much as I do! There are so many photos that I absolutely adore that it was hard for me to just choose a few for the blog.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at this next session. Jack is two years old and when I first met his Mommy and Daddy at Public Gardens, they told me that they totally understood if I didn`t get any good photos of Jack and that it wouldn`t be my fault because Jack is so busy! Well, I like a challenge and I thought for a moment he might live up to his reputation when he decided he wanted to play at `the ocean` which was his word for the fountain. Every time we tried to lure him away he ran back quickly to drive his little truck around and around the fountain. At this point, I think, `what do I really have to lose` and I decided to start chasing Jack and then have him chase me. I don`t think I have had a work out that intense in a long time. We hid in bushes and then jumped out to scare each other and I got the biggest giggles and smiles out of Jack. And Jack is quite the little charmer. He made sure he visited all the little girls in the park! I hadn`t laughed that hard in a long time. He is just the sweetest little guy ever! Ashley and Mike, I can`t even tell you how much fun I had that evening in the park. Jack is so full of life and has the most infectious giggle ever! He was a total delight and ended up being one of the easiest toddlers I have ever photograhed! I hope you like your little sneak peek. I couldn`t decide which ones to share on the blog and can`t wait to share them all with you soon.

You can definitely say that Andrea and Tony have their hands full with 3 children under the age of 3 but you would never know it! Baby Reese was a dream to photograph and she has 2 of the most doting older brothers, Ty and Rowan. I couldn't get over just how tiny Reese was, especially for being 3 weeks old at our session. She was a doll and allowed us to change backdrops, baskets, blankets and hats. The one request Andrea had was to try and capture just how tiny Reese was and I hope that I was able to accomplish that for her. The vision I had was for the square cropped photo and Reese was so cooperative in helping it all come together. Andrea, I had a wonderful day with you and it was so nice chatting and getting to know you better. I hope you are adjusting well to looking after all three children after your Mum left. They really are 3 very sweet little ones and you are so blessed! All of the photos from Reese's session turned out so beautifully and I can't wait to share them all with you.

If there is definitely one word to sum up this session, it is F.U.N. !! This was my back to back session with families visiting from Ontario. I am always humbled when I have families from so far away book a session with me. Then there is always the possibility that the weather might not cooperate on the day we have chosen which was the case with this session. We decided to reschedule it for the next day and I think we were all so happy we did! We ended up having a nice, warm morning instead of cold, drizzly rain the day before. The two little stars of this session were Mateo and Zoe and, boy, were they a photographer's dream. They didn't need direction at all and were full of smiles and giggles. I love when the parents get into the session as well which was definitely the case here. Mom and Dad didn't mind rolling around on the ground and tried to be as enthusiastic and silly as they could! It definitely makes my work so easy when I can just sit back and capture the love and fun between them! Darla and Paul, I had such a wonderful time getting to know you and you have two incredible little people on your hands.... they made me smile and laugh so much that morning. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and I look forward to sharing the rest with you soon.

I was so excited and touched when Christine contacted me about doing a session for her family while on their summer vacation to Nova Scotia from Ontario. She grew up here on the East Coast and her main objective for the photo shoot was to capture the essence of Nova Scotia. We decided to go to the beach but had to meet really early in the morning. I know everyone must think I am crazy when I suggest meeting at 7am for a session but I think it was so worth it when I look at the photos we captured that day. Evan and Emma Jane were so sweet and we all hit off right from the beginning. Evan was a little fish and we couldn't get him out of the water! He even went in with jeans on and all. And when I saw this, how could I resist going in myself to capture his expressions. So, there I went into the water thigh deep to get some of my favourite shots of him. I think I am still finding sand in my pockets after a few washes! I absolutely adore all the photos we captured that morning. I think if these were my photos, I would be doing a huge wall display of them all. You know, I might even do that for my own walls... I love them that much! Christine and Jeff, thank you so much for hiring me to do your family photos. It was such a pleasure getting to know you and your little ones. I had such a fantastic morning and am looking forward to showing the whole album to you.

I was so excited when Katie contacted me about doing a session on her farm! I certainly didn't hesitate at this opportunity. And when I drove up to her gorgeous farm on the evening of our session, I was just itching to get out in her beautiful fields with my camera. The two stars of our session were Malcolm and Bella... and I think you will agree with me that they are the most precious little people! Of course, I can't forget the furry and gentle member of the family, Morgan. Poor Bella was fighting to stay awake but Malcolm was full of energy and ready to play the whole evening. He is living out every little boys dream. He gets to live on a farm with horses and land as far as your eye can see. I can just imagine the wonderful adventures he will go on as he gets older. One of my favorite images of the session is Ryan's new tattoo he got to celebrate his brand new daughter. It is just amazing and I am so glad that they mentioned it to me so that we could capture it for him! Can you imagine my excitment when I met their little neighbour, Elijah! I couldn't help myself and had to take a few photographs of him. Those eyes and fantastic head of blonde curls are irresistible! After my session that night, I told my husband that I want to live on a farm. What a perfect location for photography sessions... simply breath-taking! Katie and Ryan, I hope you enjoy this preview of your photos and I am so anxious to share them all with you.

This session was a long time in the making. We began our attempt at going to the beach back in May but got rained out and then rescheduled for the next day and would you believe this... it was too sunny! So, the next time we were able to get together was the long weekend in August. It was a long wait for me too because I have been itching to do a beach session. It was so great to be back to the Amherst shore. I used to go to these beaches as a young girl and you take for granted how beautiful and peaceful the beach is until you move away. Although it appeared that we might be rained on again, we actually had great shooting conditions. It was cloudy and made for a beautiful sky! Addison is a gorgeous little 18 month old. I just love her beautiful blonde curls and bright blue eyes. She was having so much fun playing on the beach with her Mommy. We were prepared with lots of beach toys. At one point, we discovered a little crab and thought she might be interested in seeing it but, instead, she got scared by it... poor little thing! Addison's new baby cousin, Lyla, was visiting at the cottage on the evening I was there and how could I resist taking some photos of a gorgeous new baby! Angela, you have definitely been the most patient client of mine basically waiting 3 months to view some photos of your gorgeous girl. I hope the wait was worth it! {by the way, I absolutely adore the first photo I am posting... just beautiful!}

I felt like I was a family member or close friend waiting to hear the news of Lila's arrival. When I first met Jill and J.P. they were nearing the end of their pregnancy and still weren't sure if they were expecting a baby boy or baby girl! It was nice to do a maternity session for them and you could definitely feel the anticipation to meet their little baby. It was so exciting to finally photograph their daughter a couple of weeks later. She was just as sweet and feminine as her name. I think she was one of the youngest newborns I ever photographed and I thought she would be super sleepy and be a breeze. However, Lila decided she wanted to see what all the fuss was on the morning of our session and was determined to stay awake! It took a long time to get her to sleep and ended up being my longest newborn session ever but... it was all worth it when I look at the photos we captured of her on that morning. She was so tiny and precious and is loved by everyone in the household, including the fur babies! Jill and J.P., thank you so much for having me capture those last days of your pregnancy and then the first days of Lila's life. I had a wonderful time getting to know you both and thanks so much for feeding me while we waited for Lila to fall asleep. I hope you love the sneak peek of your session and I look forward to sharing the whole session with you.

I was so excited when a very proud uncle asked me to photograph his brand new nephew and his adorable 2 year old niece. I hadn't done a newborn session since April and I had been wishing to photograph a brand new baby for some time. I had so many ideas in mind and jumped at this new opportunity. I knew it was going to be a fun and relaxing session when I arrived at the house and there in the window was the sweetest little redhead just waiting for me to arrive. Then when I walked into the house, the second one to greet me was Ruby... the family bunny! I just fell in love instantly with this family. Everyone was so welcoming and I felt like I could have stayed all day and chatted. However, the newest member of the family, Warren, had other plans. He obviously wanted to get me in and out quickly because he was the most perfect angel and slept the entire time I was there... never stirring once. It was a record session for me! He loved curling up and being posed and was a dream to work with, especially since I had so many ideas to try out on him. Then there was Becka, the sweetest little toddler. You could see how much she already loved her little brother and she was definitely fascinated with the whole idea of photographing him. Her spot was right next to my bean bag so she could have the best seat in the house. One of my favorite memories of the day was when we went outside at the end of the session to do some photos of Becka playing in her sandbox. I was having some trouble getting her to look at my camera so Dad put one of her toys on his head so she would look up. Then Becka decided she would do the same and put her little toy starfish on her head, just like Dad. It was the cutest thing ever! The best smiles I got from Becka were when I asked her to look at the camera and wave to Uncle Allen. She loves her uncle and had no problem giving a big smile for him! I work with Uncle Allen and have been tormenting him constantly about the photos, telling him how beautiful they are and how excited I was to share them on my blog so... Rich, Jen and Uncle Allen, thanks for being so patient with me and I hope you love the photos as much as I do!
